 Mulligan Workshop

Saturday, 7 August 2010 at AUT (Room AA126)

9.00 am to 4.00 pm with registration starting from 8.30 am.

As a registrant for the Mulligan Workshop, you will need to do some pre-reading of articles prior to the workshop:

The following reference articles are all from the Mulligan Concepts website.

Pre-reading:

These two articles give a good overview of the concepts and current research related to Mulligans manual therapy techniques. Brian will probably not provide this in any detail, so it is important that these are read prior to the course.

These three, are articles of interest

·         Vicenzino B, Smith D, Cleland J, Bisset L. (2009).   Development of a clinical prediction rule to identify initial responders  to mobilisation with movement and exercise for lateral epicondylagia. Manual Therapy 14 550-554

·         Coombes B, Bisset L, Vicenzino B. (2009) A new integrative model of lateral epicondylalgia. British Journal of Sports Medicnine 43 252–258.

If you would like to read Bill Vicenzino's 2009 conference powerpoint, it is a also a great review.

Call for Free Paper and Poster Presentations

Dear hand therapy colleagues,

The 2010 NZAHT conference team is now calling for free paper and poster presentation abstracts.

We also extend a challenge to every hand therapy clinic in New Zealand to present at least one case study in the poster competition this year. The conference theme is ‘Hand Trauma – Excellence in Rehabilitation.” We are therefore interested in your patient’s trauma story, the challenges you faced, the innovative treatments you provided and the outcomes your patient achieved.

Points: Presenting a free paper or poster at conference is a great way to earn NZAHT points. Check out the NZAHT website for details.

Prizes: Prizes will be awarded to the best free paper and the best poster presented at conference.

Entering: To enter your abstract please read the guidelines (on NZAHT documents page of website) and complete the appropriate template attached below.

Preliminary 2010 Conference Programme

  •  NOTE: There are no pre or post-conference courses attached with the NZAHT conference this year.

Conference Dinner

 Dear hand therapy colleagues,

The 2010 conference committee wishes to extend a warm invitation to the conference dinner this year!

We have chosen a great little Italian restaurant for dinner this year. ‘Da Vinci’s’ offers plenty of delicious food choices and a warm cosy atmosphere. It is conveniently located right next door to the Langham hotel – so transport will not be a problem.

You will be pleased to know that the conference committee has personally tested the menu and were suitably impressed with Da Vinci’s cuisine! (Yes, it’s hard work being on the committee sometimes!) The set menu is packed with variety – and there are several other options for vegetarians.  Check out this website for a mouth-watering glimpse of Da Vinci’s: http://www.davincirestaurant.co.nz/

Dinner is at 7.00pm on Saturday 11 September and costs $50 plus drinks.

This dinner is a wonderful opportunity to mix and mingle with your hand therapy colleagues from around New Zealand, or if you prefer, to enjoy a meal together with your team.  So remember to check the dinner box when you complete your conference registration form.

We are looking forward to dining with you in September!

 Kind regards

Alieke van Middelaar(On behalf of the 2010 NZAHT conference organising committee)
